Mit viel Trara wollte man fms Konkurrenz machen. Doch die überragende Vermittlungstechnologie von fms lässt die Konkurrenz hinter sich.

Tomtom schaltet mit August das eigene Taxi Vermittlungssystem ab.

In September 2012 we launched a pilot project in Amsterdam to better understand how TomTom could address the needs of the Dutch taxi market.

After carefully evaluating the pilot, TomTom has taken the difficult decision to discontinue the project and its further roll-out. The TomTom Taxi service will cease to operate from 15th of August 2013.

Nebenbei kann man diesbezüglich auch das Taxi Ruf System (eine Kopie des fms Autobookers) von TomTom als gescheitert ansehen.

Nachdem man den Einstieg in den Taximarkt seitens TomTom nicht geschafft hat, spricht man natürlich jetzt von einem "Pilotprojekt".
TomTom hat wenigstens schon erkannt, dass sie am Taxi-Markt keine Chance haben. Bei Mytaxi scheint das noch nicht so durchgedrungen zu sein. Vor allem bei den Geldgebern nicht. Auch dort wird man aber bald beginnen, nachzurechnen.

TomTom wird es schlicht an Anschubkapital fehlen, da das Unternehmen in der Krise ist.
